please discuss who you use and why you use them and if you choose other please explain and tell us the benefits and negatives you have had with one or the other......thanks... im really who curious who uses who and why after my deal with fedex yesterday...

btw i always used fedex because the majority of my corals come that way from vendors and hobbyist.... after the huge delay in package yesterday im kinda bummed and wandering if i should try someone else...usps being my first choice but im scared of the no liquids rule...:( i have only shipped 4 boxes and fedex lost one...:( not bad huh lol.....

IDK bro. i've tried all. FEDEX and UPS both SKRUED ME. so i'm on the fence with those 2 guys.

UPS here. Had way too many problems with FedEx out of my area. I drop my package off at a UPS and they are well aware that I'm shipping coral in bags of water. The liquid thing has never been an issue with them.

I've been bent over by both of them... neither one of them are dependable. Of course shipping in winter always has it's risks

god for bid something leaks and they call hazmat in and your name is on the box then what????? to risky man i would love to ship them but i wanna tell the truth also that way if it happened to leak they would know it's just water and clean it up accordingly...... im to paranoid lol....
Just say no. you know the line...

I have never shipped but I do get a lot of my critters in the mail, I have had ups and down's with all of them but Fed Ex is by far the best out there.

I've used all of the mentioned and in one way or another been as quoted from above bent over hard at one time or another. But over all my best lick has been with fedex when I get stuff from ups the boxes are always in bad shape,
I actually have a lawsuit pending with ups because someone opened my boxes and killed $2100 in fish and 3k in corals, and put a nOte in the box that read keep them in the wild!

So they showed you by killing them. Smart people...

FedEx, I have had less problem with them. This business is a risky one they don't cover live animals!

I've shipped only with Fedex ( twice ) and had 25+ shipments delivered to me by Fedex and had only one delayed because of weather and one delayed because they said the road was closed due to construction. ( at the time, no road anywhere near me was being worked on.)
I've had 2 or 3 delivered to me via UPS with no problems.
I had one delivered to me via USPS. That will be the last one with them. I do NOT have overnight service in my area.

I don't like to have anything shipped ups especially live and it has nothing to do with losing or crushing anything. It is because they come soooooo late usually after 6pm One of the drivers for ups told me that they have to stay at the mall until noon or later depending on the merchants ability to get it to him. then he starts his regular delivery schedule. fed ex here doesn't put live goods on their regular delivery truck they special deliver it in a van. the guy from fed ex told me a few people there have tanks so they want to make sure they are delivered as early as possible mostly by 9am. of course I know it only takes one bad delivery (or no delivery at all) to change my mind it all comes down to the people who are along the route that your box takes. usps is a joke ordered live worms last year & she put them in the mailbox because she didn't want to come down my long driveway

I've used all 3 to ship and received from all 3. So far, I've not had any shipping issues, at all.

I only use USPS, if USPS offers overnight, to the area I'm shipping to, OR if there's a post office, within reasonable distance of the receiver, for Hold for Pick Up. As an example, I recently shipped corals from Spokane, to Southern Idaho. The zipcode of the buyer, did not have Over Night available. However, another post office, which was only 12 miles away, did offer Over Night, so we went with that post office and Hold for Pick Up.

To address the "liquid" issue: I've never ran into that issue, at least not as a problem. I've always told USPS what is in the box. They've never questioned anything, only been interested in the fact that I have corals...lol. I've always been honest with them. They know there's saltwater in the package.

UPS for a couple reasons...

1. UPS lets me overnight anywhere in the US from Honolulu. FedEx is limited and USPS doesn't at all.
2. I get a way better discount with UPS then anyone else. FedEx is 3x the cost for me personally.
3. No problem shipping fish and coral. No need to avoid the "Whats in the box" questions.
4. I've had great experience with UPS.

As with anything you always hear about the bad and not the good. Yes, even I will complain about the one package that was screwed up. And yes even I forgets to mention the 40 packages before that that went without a single issue. Shipment mistakes happen. I doubt any more or any less with a particular business. They are all about the same. It will happen... eventually.
