I was wondering what level should the water be at in my W/D system?..Just started to run tank today level seems pretty low.

Water level will depend on how much water drains from from your tank when the return pump is shut off. Also if you have a skimmer in the w/d, how much water it holds when running will pull the water level down some and when it's turned off it will add to the water level as well.
Depending on how big your tank is compared to the w/d will will determine the max and minimum water level as well as the flow rate of your skimmer and return pump.
The easiest way I've always determined the maximum level is to turn the return and skimmer off and see how far the water back fills into the return chamber. I also leave some extra just in case. You can determine if the levels are adequate or not for extra water volume in the sump or w/d before restarting the pumps.
Not sure about thermometers. My apex Jr's have probes for temp readings.

Thanks for the response..its a 110 and when i shut down the system i still have about 6-8 inches of room in W/D

It's up to you really to decide the maximum water level you want to have your wet/ dry at. Just keep in mind that if the return pump stops but the skimmer is still running it could overflow and dump all of the wastes back into your water again.
