I purchased a Coral from a LFS though eBay. When I went to pick it up I questioned the employee if that was the correct Coral. I was assured it was. After a few months of growing I was fairly sure it wasn't what I had paid for. I took pictures to several other shops. They all told me it was not what it was suppose to be. I contacted where I bought it. Once again I was blown off. I posted a Google review and was contacted by the shop. They still insisted that I had got what I paid for but said some just don't grow like others. Last week the shop was holding a live sale and I posted a picture. Whoever was posting for the shop said that was definitely not what it was supposed to be but was a different Coral that they sell. I sent a copy of where I had paid for the Coral that showed the name of what I paid for then I stopped getting a response. Am I wrong thinking that a company should correct mistake they made?

Depends, what are we talking about here? Was it a coral that later shifted color because of differences in lights and chemistry or did you buy a torch and it ended up being a hammer. Can't really comment on it until some blanks are filled in like pics before and after, what they claimed it was and what it actually turned out to be.

I paid for a "Shades of Fall Bounce" and got a Flamethrower mushroom instead. Everytime I questioned the shop I was told I got the bounce but not all of them have vesicals. I had tried not to give specifics to get honest opinions of what a shop should do when a mistake is made.

IMO, that looks like a normal Rhodactis.
Exactly, it is their Flamethrower rhodactis. Everytime I have brought this up with them they claimed this was their bounce but it just didn't grow vesicals. The person running their live sale finally admitted that it wasn't. When I asked what kind of deal they were offering I never got a response. So they can no longer claim that I got what I paid for I am waiting for their next excuse not to make this right.

They admitted fault, they should do something for you.

The way I read this is "I ordered Red, I got Blue. Shop says Blue is Red. Shop Admits Blue is not Red. Shop tells you to buy Red again and keep Blue."

Isn't that like forced purchase? They send you the wrong thing and then expect you to just shell the money out anyway and make another purchase that might be correct? To me that screams shady business practice and a shop I'd never go to again. I'd also make a chargeback and tell them to come pick up the coral if they want it back and if they do not compensate for their actions I'd take it further. You Americans can go as far as you want with lawyers and all while all I'd be able to do is report the shop, but still I'd do what I can.

You bought what was in the picture, got what was in the picture, but the name doesn’t match and that’s the problem?

Editing to say I answered no. Specifically for this case at this point. Idk if it was actually wysiwyg or not, but you bought this in 2017? Far past ANY reasonable expectation for recompense. Kinda seems like you’re just holding a grudge for a while now. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/is-this-a-bounce.369490/

I bought a bounce mushroom that was supposed to be from a certain line. When it was small and not being an expert I asked to make sure what I was getting. The shop assured me that I was. Then after it grew I can tell that it is not what they said but something that cost a fraction of what I ordered. Had I just bought this from a picture and was mistaken what it was that would have been different. To me it would be the same as saying I am selling a certain bread dog. As a puppy they look alike but once it grows up you can tell it is not the breed you were told. This not something they found they grow these and if they say this a certain line the I feel that is what it should be.
