I currently have 2 AI Prime HD and need some more light for my tank. I am debating between two different setups at the moment and just can not decide between the two.

One: Get a Hydra 26.

This allows flexibility in the future with different tanks, the ability to have all lighting controlled in one spot, and a lower profile over the tank itself.

Two: 36" Hybrid T5HO Fixture.

This is just the overall best-rated lighting solution to eliminate the shadowing and have even par throughout the tank. The drawback is having to purchase bulbs every year, having to dedicate Apex outlets, and the fixture is only for tanks of this size.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you!

There is no downside to using the Hybrid Fixture. Buying bulbs is no problem once you see what they can do for your tank. You can probably run the T5s for two years anyway, but even at a year if you sell one more frag or lose one less colony, then the T5 bulbs are a bargain.

If you go too much larger than a 36" tank, Hydra 26 is usually underpowered anyway and you would be looking at 52s, xr30s or the more powerful Photon V2 or Atlantik V4.

Nobody can really help with the form factor. This is a decision that only you can make that comes down to inhabitants vs. aesthetics. To each their own on this type of deal.

I would add Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED Light. It ads so many options to choose from in real time and is easy to use.

My peak lighting is 4-5 hrs the rest is ramp.
If the t5 are only on for that, you’ve doubled the life of the bulb.
That’s the other beauty of hybreds.

Mybiher thoght is if you want to stay led and eliminate shadows and all that overblown concern, stop mucking about with with pucks and pendants. Get something the size of the tank or enough units to cover the size of the tank.
