What should I do about my birdsnest

Can't quite make it out from the pic, but kinda looks like it might just be a serpent star fish. Almost looks insectoid too though. Does it look like anything to you?
The coral looks like it has seen a big stress and is shedding tissue.
Would be curious to know your water's specific gravity, alkalinity and other parameters.

A serpent star shouldnt have bothered it. Birdsnests are pretty hardy and that one doesnt look too bad so I'm sure itll come around. Give it lots of light and flow

Also, whats kind of lighting do you have and what are your params?

If that's a very recent frag and all its branches were clipped/broken off then that could explain the looks of the frag. However, I was assuming you wouldn't be writing in here if that's how it looked to begin with or you made it that way.
If your parameters are as you say (c'mon, give up some numbers) and the rest of your tank is dong well, there's no reason he won't recover quickly.
Just make sure he's getting excellent flow. Also, you might consider running the halides for at least 2-3 hours per day.
I definitely wouldn't remove him or do anything else to stress him until you're sure he's been dead for at least a month. They can make surprising comebacks if conditions are right.
