What should I do now? Cement and no glue..

Hi all,

I bought e-Marco cement from brs at the beginning Of the month, they sent me it within a week and I was good to go.. except when I received it the cement and glue come in pouches in a bucket and the cement being heavier made the glue pouch pop resulting in not only glue everywhere but pretty much left me none to work with.
I emailed brs and they were great and sent me a new bucket. Fast forward 10 days and I get it and to my surprise the same thing has happened. Two popped glue pouches thus far.
So I emailed brs and asked if they could just send me some glue as I feel bad taking products when I just need a glue pouch (don’t need another 5lbs of cement / didn’t want it to break again). They said they couldn’t open a bucket and send some of the package which i completely understand and get.. so they gave me the email of Marco rocks who I’ve emailed twice so far in two weeks and no response.

now I have a whole lot of cement, no glue, and no responses.. any ideas?
I sent brs another email but have been waiting for them to reply.
I’ve tried to see if anyone just sells the glue but cannot find it anywhere

Same thing happened to me, but between the two pouches there was enough left to use it. I also emailed Marco and did not receive a response. I considered using an acrylic fortifier from Lowe’s after the first delivery but decided to wait.

the instructions say to add water to the pouch, maybe you can salvage some to get started?

I didn’t throw the first one away, when the second package arrived I combined the pouches into one. In my case it looked like the seal at the top of the pouches let liquid get pushed past it so they weren’t total losses.

Heading into the holidays there may be a delay in them responding to you.

My order was 11/04. My assumption was just bad customer service. Great product though

Sorry if I am being silly. So you saved the two combined it added water and it was enough for you? I don’t plan on nearly using all my cement just wanted to make some arches and whatnot just didn’t know how much I would need. I saw that we add water to it perhaps that will help!

Correct, but I didn’t need a ton of it. I probably have half the mortar left but used all the liquid.

edit to add: I forget how much of the liquid I was able to save, but I weighed it to figure out how much water to add since it wasn’t a full pouch.

Is BRS willing to ship you another new bucket? If this is the case, ask them if they can open that bucket, separate the glue, and send it to you like this. That way your glue won’t get squished, and/or they can ensure the bucket you get doesn’t already have squished glue.

I have sent them an email and awaiting a reply as that was my idea. I even offered to send these two buckets back in exchange for one with just the cement and glue separated.

if that doesn’t work i will most likely just tell them I want to return both as I have no use for it if I can’t use it.

On a side note, I used quikrete hydraulic cement on my current system from Home Depot, back in 2015. That and using fiberglass rods, rock has been very solid since. Like Marco, have to make small batches at a time because it sets up quickly.

I was always skeptical as I heard people have had it give away.. maybe I’m wrong

Back when I placed them in the tank. I did change the right side due to being too tall. Like I said, I also used fiberglass driveway markers (rods) to make sure they were strong.

They are still solid after all these years and hold up this monster:

Wow so cool. I had a red plate but i had tank probs and it never recovered. Lol here’s to the next one!

Did you mix it with acrylic fortifier? Before I purchased the Marco I considered hydraulic cement. There were enough threads about it crumbling later that it deterred me.

No, no fortifier. I read a lot of threads about using this product and realized that using fiberglass rod to join pieces of rock would be needed. I will say that back then, trying to remove two pieces ended up breaking the rock instead of the joint with cement. Mixing the cement to the consistency of wet mud helped squish into cracks and crevices in the rock. Any drier, it wouldn't adhere as well.

Also, my house has two young grandkids, two full grown boxer dogs and I'm on them about jumping and rocking the floor! Still solid. Your milage may vary. Lol
