So I’ve had my powder blue for 3 weeks now in quarantine

it’s eating well, healthy, active and beautiful,

When I first bought it and I got home I noticed lumps on it, regardless I treated with copper sulphate for 2 weeks since I was going to quarantine anyway , and during treatment 24-48hrs later it has no symptoms

I’m removing copper and I’ve observed for 1 week and he was due to go into my display tank today, but yesterday i noticed a opaque spot on its face (p.s it was only one spot) I fresh water dipped it and it became almost like a skin tag hanging off, today it’s gone but I’m scared to put it in my display tank in case it was ich

If it’s a fluke note I live in Australia and we don’t have prazipro available
Here’s a photos of it today

Looks like skin irritation and ich and all fish will need to be quarantined in a separate tank and treated with copper safe for 30 days and display tank without fish for a full 6-8 weeks
Monitor copper level with Hanna brand copper test kit
Add aeration during treatment

This is currently its quarantine tank, but I’ve removed copper for observation there’s no spots on them today, camera is quite blurry
Here’s a better photo

I think it was probably a fluke. IDK what to do for that. Just leave it in there for a bit longer for observation

When I hear of a “skin tag” hanging off a fish after a dip, I always suspect Neobenedenia flukes. These can be tough to control. If you confirm that’s what you saw, I’d suggest holding the tang at half salinity for 30 days - that actually works better than prazi.

When they disappear, there may be reproduction and a return in larger numbers
You want to treat at least 30 days

First - the copper treatment should be repeated for 30 days. Additionally, I'm assuming you checked levels in the tank when you had it in copper? What can you get in Australia - I'm sure you can get it with a veterinary prescription

PS according to amazon.au - you can order praziquantel and prazipro?
