Hi all
I keep my alk at 8.6 ,drops to 8.4 every day .
I buy my salt water from my lfs for my water change
My tank is a red Sea 350 and I changed 75 liters 2 days ago .
Usually I wait a day than test all my water mainly for alk , every time I do this my alk is sitting at 8.6 or 8.4 or 8.4,5
Today I tested instead of last night as I was hafe asleep
Alk was at 8.9 so the day before it must of been higher...like 9.1 ,I know it's not a big big change but my tank is use to the alk going down not up , everything looks fine apart from a green slimer frag which looks to have a little alk burn on the top
Anyway my point is should I keep my alk a little higher to stop the jump from my water change .....think my lfs is using a different brand of salt

Also why Im at it can someone tell me the level to keep my Cal ,mag at, I keep seeing so many different .....I keep it at this I keep it at that
Mine is at
Mag 1350
Cal 425
Should i keep them at this ? Tank is a mix of sps and lps
Salt 25
Temp 26.4to 27c
No3 0.02 working to get it up
Po4 0.03
Lots of fish

Thanks for reading my long post lol

You doing great.
Yes ALK swings around but on a average your number is good.
Many ppl keep chasing their numbers but when in the morning your ALK is at 8.5 and afternoon at 9........... then I can say welcome to this wonderful hobby as that is perfectly fine

Thanks diesel ,you have helped me many times ...thanks for your knowledge:)

I also do not think those changes are important. Many people have much larger daily alk changes when using once or twice a day dosing, and their tanks seem just fine. :)

Thanks Randy, I take in all that you say
