About 2 weeks ago I upgraded from a nuvo 10 and nuvo 20 to a 40 breeder w/sump. Everything from the nuvos were combined into the 40 which left me with 2 empty tanks. Today I traded the nuvo 20 for some cash, corals and a couple of fighting conchs (only asked for 1, ended up with 3 so 2 are being rehomed) which leaves me with the nuvo 10 remaining.

Currently it has 10lbs of special grade sand, sicce nano 250 gph powerhead, sicce 0.5 pump upgrade, 75w cobalt neotherm heater, coralbox wf-01 doser with container, smart ato micro, intank floss holder. In order to get it running again, i'd need to purchase a light (looking at the prime hd since its on clearance) and some form of substrate for the bacteria to populate.

my first option is remove the sand, get a marinepure plate and some eggcrate and light and turn it into a frag tank. I'd probably put a molly and a damsel in there for algae and pest control. Second option is get rock, and light and turn it into a biotope. If I went this route, I'm thinking Caribbean but would love to hear everyone elses opinions on which biotope. Last option is I could look for a local hobbyist to trade with as is for some corals or other gadgets for the 40 breeder.

If you were me, what would you do? Thanks!

I think I’d keep it but wouldn’t set it up. Stuff happens in this hobby so it would probably be good to have an extra tank around, even if it’s just an IM10. I have one that I’ve set up and taken down at least a half dozen times for various reasons lol.

You could send me the nuvo 10

Agree! I would love to have a nuvo 10.

I also agree with @Tuffyyyyy . I have a biocube 29 and 55 gallon that's sitting around for emergencies/qt.
You can use it as a frag tank. I personally hate the look of small frags laying on the sand; a place to put them would be nice. You can also use it as a qt tank. Any fish you put in a 40 breeder can definitely stay in a nuvo 10 temporarily.

Good luck and happy Reefing

I do have a standard 10 gallon setup for QT/emergencies but its been exposed to copper so I cant put any inverts in it. That coupled with my pistol shrimps habit of using any and all frags on the sandbed as doors has me leaning towards a frag tank.
