What should I put in the cup??

Anyone have suggestions/recos on what to put inside a filter cup that would be replacing the filter sock? I have some filter floss but what else should be in there?

Other media bags (chemipure, seagel, matrix carbon, etc), or specialty filter floss like Acurel Phosphate reducing pads. The only thing I wouldn't put in there is GFO since it would probably make a huge mess, even in a media bag.
