What should i put in?

Got a clownfish par (Small.med juvies) (caramel type i believe
1 large chromish
coral banded shrimp (Will be selling) large female
margarita snail
6 hermit crabs (small)
sifting starfish
and corals

What fish out of the ones im after coud i house in with what i already have, cause im NOT 100% sure and want a second opinion or anyone that has had these fish together etc..

Fish i wanna add are as follows (Not all of them just one or two)

Foxface rabbitfish
Dwarf Angelfish
Dwarf Lionfish (I was talking to a guy with clowns and one of these) but not sure?
Cardinal fish
Dottyback
Royal gramma basslet
Perhaps another pair of different clowns? (midnight clowns)
Salfin blenny

Have you cycled your tank? Of you did they only fish that can go in are cardinals, dottybackk and the baslet's. The other fish get to big.

The three fish I mentioned will be best. But idk if the dottyback and the basslet will get along so the best combo will be a cardinal and a baslet or a cardinal and a dottyback good luck

That is too much fish for that tank size unless you have a really good skimmer and husbandry. Couple of fish needs a bigger tank. Also I would do another pair of clowns unless they are the same clutch. They will kill each other.

Dwarf Angel may nip coral, no other clowns.

Foxface gets too big for a 40g.

Dwarf angel may pick at coral.

Dwarf lion, though not as big as a volitans, still gets big enough to eat clowns.

There are many types of cardinals, most would be great, there are a couple that get too big, it depends on the species.

Dottybacks vary in aggression, some are very mean, others make great tankmates. I recommend either an orchid or elongatus, as they are more peaceful than their close relatives.

A royal gramma would be a good choice.

Almost exactly what I have in my tank and they all get along well- the cardinals are pajama cards.
Only other difference is my sixline wrasse, although I wouldn't necessarily go that route. They can get pretty aggressive- I got lucky and got a pretty tame one.
