Hey Fellow R2R-ers,
So its been a few years in the hobby now and due to previous circumstances (tank crash) I've had the opportunity to start over, upgrade and take the time to do it exactly how i want it after much thought and trial and error. Hope you enjoy.

I got into the hobby originally with a 10 gal. with 40+ mixed reef coral. For anyone whose had a real nano, you know how much work that is. One day, like with most bad stories, it started to crash. Perfect timing tho, i was moving so decided to tare down and store all the coral at a buddy's house until mine was ready. Its been about a 6 month process to design, decided, plan and find ways to save money while doing a lot of it myself. So here it goes. Its 2/27/16, just got done power washing the live rock. Custom stand is arriving tonight so ill be staining it the rest of the weekend and getting it ready for plumbing and cycling. Hopefully you guys like what I've done and if you have any suggestions to offer while i continue to get this going i'd love the input. This hobby pretty much consists of trying to bring the great barrier reef into your living room, without all your input and sites like R2R i don't know if anyone would have success, but thanks again and hope you enjoy.

Ill post some pics of what i used to have and where were at now, and ill try to update a lot this upcoming week as i plan to stain, plumb, and cycle this weekend. Fish sand next week and hopefully get all my corals back in within a month. Most of my corals are $$$$ I've collected over the last few years so I'm going to wait wait wait till things are perfect before i risk it.

I'd put some SPS along the top a couple longer tentacled LPS on the ledges and shrooms along the inside of the arch, with a few fungia plate corals on the bottom glass.

sounds like a plan to me ^ thanks!
Stands all done just need to do some late night staining, and find a sump lol

So after many days...its back. Had to shave off some of the back of the doors so the sump would fit, just right. Plumbing, rock, sand, lights and fish to come!

Nice build!

Personal opinion here: I'd prop an elegance or similar long tentacle "anemone-shaped" coral against one of the rocks in the base of that arch. It's a natural place for something like that, and I think it would fit better than any other coral.

I would say to put a nem there but it would move. Elegance is the way to go.

Failing that, zoos or GSP or xenia or anything else that "carpets" underneath.

At least briopsis is free at most your lfs's lol.
Nice rock work btw
My vote is ecrusting monties. As Your arch is close to surface and you'll have some time before your too far up.

How did you mount your zoa frags?
Love the arch

Thanks! I can't wait until all the baby sps frags get bigger! All my Zoa frags are on little frag plugs, 50 percent of them don't have their stem so I just glued them straight t the rock I learned from my first tank to give them ample room for a garden to form other wise things get way too crowded way too quickly

The top is too high for sps, unless you want tk be trimming them often.

But id do it anyway!
