what shrimp is the best?

What better way to teach your kiddos to keep their hands out of the tank.

The kids love it. It seems to be a common thread among mantis owners. I'm more worried about my hands lol.

I have had cleaner shrimp for years in different tanks and currently have 4 in my 700 litre (England calling!).
I don't target feed my corals as such and always feed the tank with the pumps on.
They do what it says on the tin, in my opinion, and just clean!
I took this as I was in the middle of reading this thread!
That turbo snail was killed by my big cat (elegance) 2 days ago, I watched it happen.
Part of the cuc as the body rots, there were bristle worms pulling at the shell before lights on.
I love them!

Fire shrimp are less annoying but more reclusive than skunk cleaners....but the fire shrimp do become more bold with time

I personally would not recommend any of the choices due to them most likely to steal food from corals/nems. Peppermints can eat unhealthy corals or when not fed. Zanzibar or Blue Dwarf Coral Banded Shrimps work really nice as pairs with striking color. Not aggressive like the regular Coral Banded and would sometimes clean fish like Scarlet skunks. A group of Sexy shrimps adds more sense of biodiversity in the tank. Pedersons or spotted Anemone Shrimp is exactly the same as a Scarlet skunk but is smaller, bright neon colors, don't steal much food (due to size), can be kept in groups, and dances comically on corals. Harlequin Shrimps are one of the most beautiful Shrimps IMO

Has anyone had their Cleaner shrimp kill Sexy shrimp? My Sexy shrimp keep disappearing, and I've seen my Cleaner shrimp aggressively chase them a couple times, so I'm wondering if he is eating them. I'm thinking of getting rid of the Cleaner shrimp, especially if he is guilty of murder. He's also getting too big in my opinion for my little nano and steals food from everything.
Do Sexy shrimp serve any purpose? Do they help clean up? I'm a fan of them, they are a good size for my 15 gallon tank.
Would a Fire shrimp and a couple Sexy shrimp be a better combo?

I’ve had at least one cleaner shrimp in my tank for about 13 years now. I don’t think my tank would feel right without one. They add so much personality. They do steal food, but to me, it’s not a big deal. I hand feed mine a big chunk of clam and he’ll sit there for a long time working on it. Corals that are really slow to feed, I just cover with a cut soda bottle.

I’ve kept cleaners and sexy shrimp together for years without a problem. If yours are disappearing, check your fish carefully...wrasses, hawkfish...lots of fish like tiny shrimp. Cleaner is innocent

I have a firefish, purple firefish, and a couple blue/green chromis in my tank. Highly unlikely any of them are eating the sexy shrimp. None of my fish have shown any aggression that I've seen towards the sexy shrimp, but the cleaner shrimp has, several times.

I too have decided shrimp aren't worth the hassle. Aside from the above mentioned food stealing, peppermint shrimp have been known to actually eat the coral itself.
