im setting up a 90 gallon tank 48" Long x 18" deep and 24" high. I've settled on ATI and at least 6 bulb configuration. Its going to be mixed LPS and SPS. I was going to buy a 48" light but according to ATI that's overkill. I'm not sure if I'm going with the power module with the LEDs or not we will see how financing looks. I just worry if I hang a 36" fixture will the edges get enough light?

Personally I would go with the 48". But a 36" might be enough on the edges depending on height above the tank.

I would definitely go with 48". I have a 48" 75 gallon tank and I would never go with 36". I had a 6 bulb T5 setup over it for years and it worked great for LPS and SPS. Now I have 48" LEDs over it.

I think 48" light is fine but 6 bulbs is probably overkill for the other two dimensions.

Could you tell me what/where you read that makes you feel this way?

I agree a 48" fixture on a 48" tank is ideal.

These are general guidelines only. Many factors, such as tank depth, types of corals, and coral placement can affect individual lighting needs. Please contact your dealer. if you need additional assistance in determining the appropriate size light for your tank.

Sorry it didn't format correctly but the 36" would be good for 80 to 160 gallon
