Ok so I have this large over flow it's about 16 inch long and 4 inch deep it was just in a box I was gonna use on a fresh water tank but went canister instead. I Wana use it in this 25 gallon cube. What size pipe should I use and do you hink the over flow is too big

I would do 1/2 inch piping for that size tank. Overflow sounds like it could handle a bigger tank. Hard to say if it’s too big without seeing the tank and overflow in the same pic.

Are you planning on drilling the tank? If so, for a herbie style, you will want to have at least 1 inch bulkheads and 1 inch diameter pvc with a gate valve to control flow. The pipe should drain into the proposed sump typically into the filter socks.
The size of the overflow weir/box allows for higher flow rates/turnover of the tank. It will depend on the size/flow rate of the return pump.

The 1/2 inch piping will get you up to 420 gph. If you want more then that then go 3/4”
