What size pump?

Running GFO and pellets is redundant, you will probably be better off with carbon and pellets. And if you can't get your phosphates down to an acceptable level you could always mix some GFO in with your carbon. Also, what sized tank?

That's kind of a tough decision. You will want to be able to really control the flow for your bio-pellets, and you will want much less flow for GFO or Carbon. So if you are trying to run just one pump for both, you might look into the ecoplus 396 at the Critter. You will want to get some 1/2" ball valves from them as well.

The ecoplus 396 is what I am running my pellets with and a MJ Cobalt 1200 for carbon, both are dialed back. And depending on the amount of media you could run both with that one pump. But as Chris said it is better to have independent control of the flow/tumble of the pellets. But either way you will want to add the ball valves to control the flow through/to the media.

I do not like 2 two little fishes 550 reactors for running bio pellets the bio pellets all ways stick together on me
