What size pvc for drain?

I might go that rout I couldnt find the 1 3/4 holesaw at any of my local stores so I'm gonna end up ordering it all on amazon I dont know that when I looked last time they had 1 and 1/4 in bulkheads on amazon but I'll look for sure

You said 150 gallon. How old is the tank? I ask because you said you are going to drill the bottom. I’d make sure the bottom isn’t tempered.

I just used a "Drilax" hole saw from Amazon on my 55. The price is decent, and I don't have any complaints about the saw.

The stamp on tank says 1988 its old I have tryed the tests and they come up as not tempard on all sides but I called local glass places and they all told me theirs no true way to tell leas u just try so I'm gonna go off the tests showing not tempard and hope for the best otherwise it looks like I'll be turning my hole in the wall into a shelf ha it use to be freshwater tank for the past 8 year but i really wanted to turn it into salt and upgrade our small salt tank

This 8 minute video may save you a lot of heartache.

yeah ive done this test and it comes up as not tempard im still worried tho after calling multiple glass stores and they said theirs no true way to tell and if i brought it to them to drill then it would be on me if it brakes so i figured tests show its not and im just gonna go ahead and give it a go

not sure why its so much harder to find 1.25 bulkheads then it is to find 1.5 and 1" bulkheads maybe i should just go with 1.5?

Orderd 3 1.5 bulkheads for the bottom of tank I'll wait for them to come in befor buying the drillbit they say could be 2.5 Or 2 3/8 so I'll measure them when they come in and buy the drillbit later sadly I didnt get to drill today

I was in your same position for my 240 gallon aquarium and went with 1 inch bean animal internal drain. I'm using a vectra l2 return pump and even at 100% flow, 1 inch is more than fine.

Lol dang theirs so many options out their it's hard to pick but at this point the 1.5 bulkheads are orderd looks like that's what I'm going with
