It's actually the pro clear aqua Rs100 sump I'm getting, I was looking at the Eshopps for my 55 gallon. Anyway the pro clear aqua Rs100 is for a 100 gallon which is what I have, rated for 400 gph, which has me confused about the overflow box also( which I have to get for this tank, drilling is not an option) because the cpr overflow boxes I'm looking at cs100 has 800gph. I'm just really confused with the whole sump , overflow box, and return pump gph rates and sizes. And I'm looking at the rs100 pro clear, because 24" by 10" by 16" the biggest I can fit in my stand

Oh my god this is the most crude drawing ever lol

So imagine

yellow=sump
blue=tank
black=pump return
How high long will the return pump be pushing water back into your tank? Say on my 46G my pump is pushing up about 4.5 feet and that makes you lose a lot of strength in the pump. So instead of coming out at 400GPH it does way less than that. But if your tank is only 2 feet above the pump then there wont be as much stress on the pump and it will go at much higher capacity.

It's under my stand so, about 4-4.5 foot from pump to tank. The sump I'm getting says up to 400gph.

IMO you don't have to pay attention to the sump. For 4-4.5 feet head height and an overflow that can handle 800GPH you want a pump that does 1000GPH. Trust me, you lose a LOT of power. With it full blasting 1000GPH you will really only do maybe 400.

Jebao 9000 fits in the return compartment.

Reef Octopus varios-2. It's rated at 792 gph at full power. It's DC so you will use less electricity and it is very quiet and smooth running. I like em. I usually run mine at about half power for a 90 gal with Eshopps RS-200 sump. Had a Jebao DC-4000 but it was too noisy for my living room. The darn thing made a loud whine at every speed setting.

I'm not sure how big the return compartment is but I use a Syncra 2.0, would probably reccomend a 3.0 since your overflow can handle more. At full power mine doesnt have the flow I want
