So I finally pulled the trigger on my new 139g aquarium today. I am using a very reputable local Aquarium Design Group here in Houston for the whole install and set up. Below are the specs. However, after researching online it seems the Red Sea Reefer RSK-900 Skimmer that the guy wants me to buy is rated for a tank much larger than mine. Would the 600 model do just fine instead?

Red Sea Reefer 525 XL Deluxe (Comes with Red Sea LEDs)
Red Sea Reefer RSK-900 Skimmer
Ecotech Vectra S2DC Main Pump
2 Aquatic Illumination Nero 5 Wave Pump
120 lbs Real Reef Rock

I think the 600 would do okay, but the 900 will do its job better. I think the difference is not big enough to have an effect on your skimmer efficiency.

Thanks for the input. I asked the guy doing the install and he said he recommended the larger model since that is what they are using on the same exact tank in the store and it is doing great. He mentioned its always better to have too much skimmer than not enough and it is the second most important piece of equipment after the lighting.
