what size sump for my tank?

im upgrading to a 8 foot long 24 inch wide 240 gallon this year. What size sump would yall recommend I use? I havnt seen many sumps over 35 gallons. Should I just get a custom one from the manufacturer im buying from?

I have a 30g for the 75g display and an 80g for the 150g display. I'd recommend something in the 80-90g for your tank; this provides enough room for various pieces of equipment, plenty of volume for back siphon, and likely room for a refugium should you choose to use one.

The 30g is under the display but the 80g is in the basement so I could go as big as I wanted down there. I like to use 30% as a rule of thumb because it usually provides enough room for your skimmer, reactors, return pumps, heaters, dosing lines, etc..

Bigger the better. 75-125 would be somewhat of a standard range imo.
