What size T5 to buy

Hello all just got a 85 gallon tank that is 4 ft long. Was looking at the T5 retro kit that will hold kessils as well. My question is do i need to buy the 48 inch light fixture or the 36 inch one?

I think most people go for the full 48" fixture to ensure coverage.

may be a 4 foot fixture with at least 6 bulbs or more

Agree with the 48" fixture. Unless it's a very deep tank (>24" depth) and/or going to be strictly very light demanding animals (Acros, Clams, some Anemones, etc.) I think a 4-lamp T-5 unit + a couple of Kessel units would be plenty.
