Hello, I was curious about what size tank I would need to house a Copperband Butterfly Fish, and a One Spot Foxface? These are the 2 big "show fish" I hope to have along with a bunch of smaller fish. What is the smallest size possible with them still being in optimal conditions?

Copperband is about 125 gallons and can be hard to acclimate to begin eating.
One Spot Fox is about 75 gallons.

Let's note though that a 75g would not be large enough for either full grown, both are quite large when full grown. a 75 would be adequate home for smaller young individuals for a few years.

Depends I suppose on your opinion/comfort level for these fish. I have no experience with either of these fish, but am just posting to point out:

75G is normally a four foot tank (i.e. we're not talking about a 25" cube)
125G, IIRC is a six foot tank

For these fish, I would look at dimensions as well as overall volume.

Eta: key point i think is if a 4” tank or 6” tank of reasonable proportion is the minimum.

25” 75g cube imo is out, as is a hypothetical 72x9x9 25g tank. I might take an 80g 72x16x16 over a standard 48x18x21 75g, but if eatbreakfast is ok with a standard 75 that’s also good.

I had a Copper band in a 75 for a year. She was quite happy. The fish is in a 180 now.

So as a 75 would be plausible a 120 or 125 is a much better size ?

i have a 240 gallon tank with a Medium size CBB.. They like to scavenge along the rocks and hunt pods .Mine will now eat frozen food but I do not think it would survive without a Large pod population.. So tank size i think a min of 6 ft long with Lots and lots of rock work....

This comes from how my CBB Acts ...
