We are going to set up a tank in my daughters’ room. This is literally one of the only locations available in the whole house that’s close to a water supply (bathroom is just to left) and not getting direct sunlight. And there is a closet just behind this wall that can be used as a small tank room.

The wall is about 39” wide.

I can place a 75 gallon here that is 36” wide and have no corner overlap and no sun from behind.

Or I can place a 100 gallon here that is 48” but have a small overlap from the corner.

What would you do?

Definitely no overhang. Also, if you're like me, your measurements are best case scenario with no wiggle room. Even the 36" will probably end up taking up a little more space than expected by the time you level and work it in there.

I'd go with the smaller tank. Just because something fits, doesn't mean its the right choice. Remember; you have to do daily and weekly maintenance.

You don't want things crammed in to a point where it is inconvenient. If it is inconvenient to work on the tank, it will become neglected.

Starfire is ultra clear glass. Any float glass 1/2"or over, you will see the green hue unless it's star fire or low iron.

Okay... I was aware of low iron glass, but not Starfire.

I guess I should have asked if SC Aquariums make quality tanks.

You have a ton of options when you can have a tank built rather then off the shelf. Examples are whether to eurobrace or not, armored seals, black or clear silicone, center or corner overflow placement, interior or exterior also, list goes on and on.
