I'm building a sump from a 10g for a 30g frag tank. It will be a 3 section sump. Filter sock w/skimmer, fuge, and return. Since space is limited in the sump, and in the stand, I'm curious what kind of skimmer would work well. I do not want to use a HOB skimmer either. I was looking at nano skimmers, and I feel like the skimmate cup is too small.

The smaller tunze comline style is a go to. It doesn't skim as much particulate as some however. the recommend their mech filter to compliment that. Its the Tunze comline Reef Pack.

Fwiw a 9006 would work and is way overrated for your water vol but you do need to make sure the water line is high enough.

I've been using this skimmer in my 10g sump for years and love it.https://www.ebay.com/itm/191831706231

Works good and has a small footprint. The listing says the footprint is 4.25x7 but it's really smaller than that. I think it's more like 4.25x5.5.

What I like about that skimmer is the drain build in to the cup. Does it work well?
