What stage is my shark egg at?

I got it a couple days ago from my local fish shop, they said it would probably be ready to hatch in a week or two. Is that correct?

Do you know what species this is?

I can see a distinct, large yolk mass off to the right side, so no, it is NOT ready to hatch yet. Depending on the species, it could be weeks to months before hatching.

It’s a banded cat shark. I see the yoke sack, i was told 1-2 weeks. Is there any way to tell the age of the egg?

Sorry - no. I do know that it won't hatch until the yolk sac is absorbed though. I do feel this egg is not going to hatch for at least another month though.
