what substrate for lps

im setting up a small 30 gallon acrylic tank for my son .it will have softies and lps brains,acans and mushrooms..i was thinking about a large stone rubble .thinking for mushrooms that detach they can reattach to rubble..or do i go with a super fine sand.only thing is the tank is acrylic and with superfine ur gonna get much more scratches

I would use both the rubble and 1-2mm sand.

I only have fine sand, and mushrooms too. I just placed the on a rock, has already created multiple smaller heads. If you place mushrooms in the substrate I would suggest rubble though.
