What supplements do you use regularly with success? the ones you won't do without?

What do you use, what's it for and how often do you use it?

B-ionic two part, alk and calc
Nothing else for now. Once this tank hits around the 6 month mark I probably start doing trace elements as well.

I am boosting this up.. I'd like to see what else people use!

I have acropower, haven't used it much yet, but I will when I get more corals

I am very interested in this thread. Can't wait for people to share.

Every one is afraid the Olympic Committee is going to test their tanks and ban them from reefing.

I personally bought the Red Sea Reef Energy A/B. I probably don't NEED supplements yet, so it will be used very sparingly.

I just use the basics now; ca, alk, and mg. I use to dose the minors but found testing to be a bother. I believe you don't dose what you don't test for, the simple calculations of dosing to ca consumption simply doesn't work. I saw very little positive results to warrant the effort. The salt I'm using seemed to be so right on with the minors that it also didn't matter. I did use reef energy for a while until my phosphates were off the charts, so I did a little experiment; using the recommended amount each dose raised my phosphate by .02

I use nopox on my fowlr with large carnivores that I seem to overfeed.

Oh, in my cabinet, I have them all, I just don't use them anymore.

I guess it IS a secret, lol

It ain't a secret and it really doesn't matter for what you're dosing.
As long you keep your tank balanced and consistent in what in what you dose.
You might not see results for months but it doesn't mean it ain't working.

Yes, it's a veritable forest down there.

So I dosed the Reef Energy tonight. It looks like nuclear waste being added to the tank. It fluoresces a very bright green under deep blue moon light.

I use reef energy in the displays at work. If the nuclear green color stays around longer than 5 minutes then you should adjust the dose down. Mine did that at first and it turned out I did the math wrong the first go around. ;)

It dissipated pretty quickly. I went with 5ml each for 75g to start.
