What T5 ballast do you use?

Never used T-5's but here is a bump for ya!

It depends on what length and wattage T5's you want to run, but here's a few examples:

Advance/Universal T5 electronic ballast #010555 will run 4x54watt T5 bulbs
Fulham Workhorse 7 will run 4x54watt T5 bulbs

I use Advance/Sylvania/Universal T5HO ballasts for most bulbs but for the 5' ones I use the Icecap660's.

icecap no longer makes anything

workhorse 7 cost about $35 if you can beet that get the other kind but never had any problems with any workhorse ballast and I have built probably 100+ lights

I'm looking to buy a ballast that will drive 4 t5s. What do you use besides Icecap? And have had good results.

I use the full ham workhorse 7 ballast and have had great results. I have a few used ones around that I can part with for 25.00 and am in Huntsville if you want one. Just send me a PM.

Thanks
Mike

I use IC660s, but Coralview bought IceCap so the 660 is now the Coralview 660. They improved them a bit and will continue honoring IceCap warranties and repairs. I hear the same person who was in charge at IceCap is running or leading this area for CoralView.

Never hears an issue with the Workhorse though, so that may be a good option for you.

Thanks Mike, I just bought a workhorse 7 just before I seen your post. I'll get it hooked up this weekend and let you all know my thoughts. Ice cap are good ballasts but as someone said they went out of business. Coralview has made thier own kick off from them but they are a little pricey.
