on first glimpse looks like Ctenochaetus striatus but would need more detailed pics to be sure. Atlantic blues do not have Yellow around the eyes

It will outgrow your tank, gets much larger then a kole tank. I think like 8-10 inches and will need like 175 gallons or larger when full grown.

But it’s a pretty fish, as he ages will get more electric blue markings. And you don’t see them that often.

The other thread seem to think its either a Bariene or Dussumeiri tang.

both of which will also outgrow my tank too. i wanted a kole so i could keep it long term.. oh well I suppose!

You will have some time for him to grow. When he becomes aggressive you’ll know it’s time to get a bigger tank

Get a close up pic of the mouth and also try to get pics of any pattern especially around the face

Ok thanks, will try get some pics tomorrow.

it has white lips and does have some faint white horizontal stripes on its sides, which made me think it was a kole initially, until I got shot down..!

It is one of the LARGE Acanthurus tang (since it does not match any of the smaller Acanthurus). I used to buy a few tiny Acanthurus tang (1 inch or so) that I cannot ID. Every single case, they grow up to be HUGE tangs. I never buy any tiny tang anymore, unless I can ID it and know that it will not out grow my tank.

Yea your probably right. I might keep an eye out for an older kole tang then trade back this guy.
