Just entered escrow on a condo and I'm getting all excited. I'm probably a ways off from actually buying a new tank because I'll be putting money into appliances and such, but for now I'm just entertaining myself.
The condo is two stories and sits on a slab. I was originally planning to do a room divider tank between the living room and dining room but the logistics and costs of reinforcing the floor made me too nervous (also if the tank failed the entire upper story would be compromised, a chilling thought).
So that leaves me with this little nook in the stairwell. It's on a slab, and borders a small laundry room so I could easily run RO to the tank if I wanted to take that risk. The laundry room is too small for a mixing station though so I'm unsure what I'm going to do about that.
Anyways, the nook is 5'x5'. Originally I wanted to fill the space with a 4'x3' or 3'x3' cube (Nuvo 150 or 112), but I think it would look awkward sitting in the space like that. So instead I think put a 48"Lx20"Dx25-30"H tank on the wall to the right with a small chair/sofa on the left to create a cozy space to view the tank. Maybe that would be too cramped.
What would you do? The space is just under 5'x5'. Desk, shelf, etc was from staging and is no longer there.
