What temp do you keep your tank?

I'm just curious what everyone keeps their tank temps?

I've seen so many people with different temps, and what they consider the optimal temperature..

Between 77.6 all day long lol but I've seen some awesome tanks that swing between 77-80 all day and have been doing great

78 degrees seems to be ideal for my sps tank

78-78.5 on apex with fan that kicks on at 78.5 and off at 78.2 and heater that kicks on at 77.9 and off at 78.2 (this only runs in the winter)

But when the halides kick on it goes low 80's

My house thermostat stays on 78 and tank stays around 79 to 80. Good coral growth.

My mean temp is 77*, which is the optimum temp for corals as I have read.

Thanks for you input. I'm just curious because I have my tank in the wall in my living room. And the tank itself is in the garage... so cal summers aren't too nice to me so I'm trying to see what I can get away with without breaking the budget on my chiller running all day.

I thought putting my tank in the wall would be awesome. It turned out nice but it's a pain in the butt to clean since I have to work on it from the top and you can't really see what your cleaning... :/ it was soo much easier when I could stick my arm in and look through the front pane to see what I was doing...

Idea that my be nutty: Enclose the area around tank etc. in the garage and add a window AC unit to it. There must be dust/dirt etc. that comes from garage into the tank.
