I run at 77 and everyone seems happy. I sort of averaged the temperatures various sources provided for coral species, inverts, and fish. I find my snails do much better than when I ran closer to 80.

Over what time period should you raise your temperature in the your tank? I just checked my controllers and one was set for 76-77 and the other for 77-78. I wasn't aware I had my low temp set so low for either.
I raised by 1 degree:
for the 76-77 i raised to 77-78.5
for the 77-78 I raised to 78-79

I am thinking of raising to 79 for both.

I try to keep it right at about 78 in the new tank. In previous tanks I have tried various temps.

At 75 I found everything grew more slowly, but evaporation was slower to occur

at 82 evap was fast, the waste build-up was rapid, but things grew faster in general.

I am shooting for the middle in the hope to find balance with this tank.

No chiller so I run 82 at height of the day. SoCal nights get relatively cool and with the windows open I might see a drop to 75 at its worst. Corals and fish don’t seem to be bothered but I have very little SPS and no Arcos.

77 is what I aim for. It is easier to heat my tank up if it gets cold, but if the room gets hot I have no chiller so I like to give myself a little extra room/time if the to catch the temp rising.

Run mine at 80 in the summer. Chiller kicks on at 81. In the winter it stays around 77-78 with heater.

Setback on the chiller means Summer temp fluctuates between 78.5 and 79.9 F. Smaller setback on the heating means Winter temp fluctuates between 78.5 and 79.5 F. I try to limit swings to less than 2 degrees, but I also don't want rapid cycling of control devices (particularly the chiller). Stability is probably more important than absolute AS LONG AS you are nominally between abut 74 and 84 F.

And the right answer is.... room temperature ;)
Best way to keep the temperature stable. At least that is if room temperature is stable too.
