Right at the base of the coral between the death and the live part

I looked for hours for what would be killing these coral colonies and am at a loss....many corals not making it and I just cannot figure out what is happening and why. If parameters are great it is usually pests and this is the closest thing I could find to the issue and the QT tank is a 3 month process.....

It's tough to see what's going on from the pics you posted. Maybe try turning the pumps off and getting better light on it before taking pic? Video clip may help also!

Ive had similar issues with larger sps colonies and not enough flow at the base?? lack of nutrients to keep the bottom alive?? I don't see any eggs but i'm not knowledgeable with pests.

I thought the low nutrients too but nitrates sit at 12ppm and it is seeming to be mostly colony’s but not exclusively.....flow shouldn’t be the issue either as it’s a bare bottom system and there are 2 MP60s and 4 MP40s in the 200gal and similar flow sets in the other tanks to scale. Maybe I can get another pic or so....a friend told me maybe acro eating spiders? There are seeming to be otherwise hydroids on some of the skeletons of the dead or dying corals. I don’t know tho
