what the heck is going in here

so I’m stunned as I woke up this morning and found my mandarin, midas blenny and neon dotty back all dead. I just tested my parameters and all are normal and if not doing better when I had my nitrate and phos issues. I did notice this on my frag Rack can someone tell me what this is it’s some white stringy stuff ?

All my other fish are doing fine the only new addition was the mandarin

White things are snail eggs. Not the cause of the fish deaths.

Did you quarantine the mandarin or any of your fish? Any others exhibiting symptoms (flashing, spots, etc)?

No all fish are fine and they all are established fish been in the tank more than 3-4 months

I did not quarantine the mandarin as I figured it would be hard to do so with no copepod populations in the qt and I did not add him to my fuge thinking it’s not enough flow for him I’m really stunned with the blenny as he was the most active everyday and ate like a pig

It’s potentially not the cause if the fish death, but your phosphate is very high at 0.72, a good target would be 0.03ppm

Unless the increased level has caused some other issue in the system

I notice this on my leather coral which just recently got cracked so to me dropping a rock on it is it ok and the white stuff be the cause of fish death?

I think the stringy stuff is snail eggs. Had it in my tank too and was semi-freaking out for a day or 2. Normally I'll find crop circle designs on my glass from the nassarius snails so i didnt think it was snail eggs at first. As for the stuff on that leather idk.....maybe a defense mechanism release from getting smashed.

Well it happen to me tank wipe out, only thing going are my corals all fish are gone all within 24 hours after noticing one acting Strange. All parameters are good I’m thinking it was velvet or something worst as that is a total of 10 fish in 2 weeks. Tried to get them to the qt I believe it was to late.

After so many post I will say this I have learned a lot and going forward all fish and coral will be quarantined.

I will say this has shook me as I am currently in the planning stages with the wife for a 300 gal custom build.
