WHAT THE HECK IS THIS CREATURE

i saw like a bunch of weird looking tentacle things moving in the current in my sand and i brushed it around and this thing came out i have no idea what this is. Send help i may burn my house down.

It's harmless/beneficial:
Looks like either a hair worm (Cirratulidae) or a spaghetti worm (Terebellide) to me - if the tentacles all come out from a single point, it’s a spaghetti worm; if they come out from basically all over the body it’s a hair worm.

Spaghetti worms spook many reefers but eat uneaten food and detritus making them a valuable find
 
that is the bane of my existence
 
I have hundreds but only see the entire worms if I'm moving rock or something. I've not had a worm yet that isn't welcome in my tanks. I don't understand why folks hate little things like them when they are so benificial to the system :thinking-face:

yeah at first when i posted this i had no idea what it was and wasnt sure if it was harmful or not. After finding out its not i let them live and there are about 5 of them setup in my office tank setup
