What the heck is this on my tang?

14 days copper power at 2.15. 7 days observation with two doses of general cure. I didn't notice this until he goes into my display. An hours later the fish has this all over it. The lighting wasn't as good in my QT tank but no way I missed this. Display was fallow 80+ days before the fish going in. What the heck is this?

Should I be trying to catch him to remove to a hospital tank?

I was acclimating the fish in a clear container this morning inside my display and no way this was on it during those 45 minutes. I even viewed the fish under magnifying glasses while he was acclimating.

It is not ICK. At least not a type I have ever seen.
Does not look like Velvet either.
I know this does not help you much.
I dont know that only 14 days of copper treatment is long enough.

14 days copper then transfer to a sterile tank. Salinity marching between QT and display but I still hung a container of QT water in the display and added display water every few minutes for at least a half hour. He’s swimming normal and picking at rocks but had those marks all over including on the top fin. This popped up very quickly.

Well the video makes a differance.
Your first posting made me believe that the DT was fallow for almost three months. And I assumed this was the first fish transfered into a fallow DT.
what I think your seing is he is being chased and banging into the new aquascape scuffing his sides up.

Not ick maybe velvet or just could be from salinty I would recomend taking him back to qt and playing aggresive with using Herbtana and Prazipro and everything you will doing before do not leave him in the dt

The DT was fallow for 80 days. I’ve been putting fish back in the last couple days. I don’t think it’s velvet the other fish look clean.

i am leaning road rash from rocks ,turn off or way down lights let fish settle ,make choice to remove or not while new to tank

I agree with rock rash. Just watch the fish, keep them feed quality foods and it should get better.

It looks more like a virus. My tangs got something similar while going through QT. Outside of treating them with the usual, they had to fight it off themselves. I lost 2 tangs to it and 3 survived.

I'll try to find the actual virus name...

If it's a virus can it spread to the other fish? Everyone looks clean and 3 others were in the same quarantine tank.

If it is, and I'm not qualified to properly diagnose, then chances are the other fish have it. Not to worry, just like any virus, healthy fish won't even show signs.

I found it, it's called tang fingerprint disease.
