It's flat and looks a bit like a chiton. I'm guessing some sort of flatworm. Any idea which one specifically? Should I try to remove it from the tank?

I think that's a chiton. There's a clear skirt around a scaled armor section. There are obvious horizontal scales on it's back IMO. As far as I know, all chitons are reef-safe and algae eaters.
