So this morning before going to class I looked at my reef before the lights came on and saw what looked like a combination between a spider/feather duster/ anemone. If someone could help identify this that would be amazing. I tried catching it by sucking it up with my turkey baster but it pulled itself back under the rock within milliseconds. I jut rearranged my rock in my reef and this side that it’s on was always covered so idk if it’s always been there or not. It’s about the size of a penny around. It’s under the rock that’s situated in the middle of the tank, on the right side where the candy cane is mounted and where there’s that little overhang

Fascinating! It's not a bobbit, also doesn't look like aiptasia. Rock flower is an interesting suggestion but I haven't known them to have that fast of reaction.

It's not a worm, not enough mouthy bits around the oral disc. I'd say some sort of anemone, maybe some sort of mojano.

I pulled the rock out and it was in a tube. This wasn’t like a feather duster tube where it’s composed of mucus and sand. This was something else. It’s maybe an inch long
