What the heck is this?

Found this on my sand bed this morning.
No clue!!! o_O
It's about the size of a quarter. Maybe slightly larger.

If you flip it over, what does the other side look like? Is it able to be flipped over? with the substrate in the center, I almost believe were looking at the bottom of whatever it may be.

I dunno. I didn't want to touch it. :p
I can go home and check at lunch. Probably should have grabbed it and isolated it. But it wasn't moving. Even when I turned the lights on for a few minutes to take the photo.
 
I'm almost inclined to say were looking at the underside of a fleshy limpet
attachment.php

Possibly was crawling in your sandbed and got blown over onto his "back"

This is a definite possibility. I do have some Limpets in the tank.

Flipped it over and it was a chiton. A dead one at that. lol

I might have to take that cigar back. LOL!

I'm saying "chiton" but that's not what it was. It was a smooth conical shell with hole on top. Limpet. I got confoosed. ;Facepalm But close enough! :D
