My Gramma has this little hitchiker on his tail. I was going to say that I know it's not Ich (it's not) but it seems sort of idiotic to claim I know something "is not" when I am asking what it actually "is". Anyway, here it is. Anybody know what it is (or, how about what it isn't)? Sorry but it's been a long work week and I'm a bit giddy.

Isopod. You should definitely try to remove it if it's attached to your fish. It's probably parasitic.

Ok, thank you for the help. Now it's all about trying to catch a Gramma in order to remove it. This little sucker is quick and a cave dweller.

No problem, I don't have any experience with isopods but I've read some. I know that some are okay and some of them are parasitic. If its attached to the fish I would assume that it's parasitic. Hopefully someone with some more experience and or knowledge will chime in and help out too!

There is a possibility it will drop off of your fish. You can net them swimming at night with a red lense light. Here is another thread on this

What other fish do you have? a fish trap could help catch him.

Some bath options would be potassium permanganate or cyromazine. Neither treatments are reef safe and will kill any crustaceans in the tank.

There's a Royal Gramma, lawnmower blenny, baby Randall's Goby and a coral beauty. I have a clown in QT right now that I pulled last night for reason. I built a home made trap so this would be a good opportunity to try it out.
