Hi, I had a Bangaii cardinal fish, who went missing. I have a 32 gallon tank, and not a lot of rock work. And, he’s been missing for about a week. I tested the water the same day he went missing and everything was perfect. He was out at the feeding the night before and was eating fine. Do you know what happened? Thanks.

How would anyone here know?? Its your house... Lol

Check the floor for a dried up fish? Look under rocks for a body?

I have a Midas Blenheim, a baby ocellaris clown, falco hawkfish, blood shrimp, and a tiger snapping shrimp. There might be a body under the rock, but that would make the ammonia levels spike. But when I tested the water everything was perfect. Thank you for your opinion

It wasn't an opinion but rather a question, hence the question marks.

Additionally, such a small fish would not cause an ammonia spike. Most likely it died and was eaten by you cuc. This is now my opinion of what could have happened to the fish.

Big guy, or small? Wondering if the shrimp may be up to no good. Even if the fish died for other reasons a fairly large CuC will make quick work of the carcass. Or maybe just a good hider.

I had a pajama cardinal disappear for weeks, I thought one of the other cardinals got to him. He eventually popped up, even with you small rock work, it is possible.

Keep any eye out over the next few days when feeding. Fingers crossed he pops up.

If you have a decent clean up crew, they will make a meal of him in a few hours. I hope he turns up and is just hiding. In the meantime, double check your fish to make certain they are doing okay.
