What thermometer do you use for testing water temperature for water changes?

I'm curious what other people use to test the water temperature when they do a water change. Currently, I use the aquanet digital thermometers which are very accurate but they aren't water proof which can sometimes be problematic. When you do water changes and need to test the water temperature, what do you use?

Mine is through my apex controller probe and I do have a floating glass one to double check occasionally

I use an inkbird for my water changes, double check tank with it against my apex temp probe

I have an AWC so I don’t check water temp on water change water, but if I needed to I’d use a basic cheap glass floating thermometer.

I use the Hanna salinity and temp.

I use a Hanna salinity checker also. I have a heater in my brute mixing container that is set pretty close to tank temp so I just double check it once in a while
I'm never changing much more than 10% at a time so I don't over think it since it isn't going to change the tank temp enough to really matter in my experience.

Yeah, I might just stick to using the hanna salinity probe then. It does seem pretty accurate. Thank you very much y'all.

I have a 200 watt heater in my mixing station set at 78. Now when it's hot here in Vegas I have to leave the water in 5 gallon containers inside to cool down for a while. I'll put a couple 50watt heaters in the jugs and let them sit overnight. No other measurements

I use a Cole palmer NIST traceable pen style thermometer to calibrate all my other probes and heaters. Then I can be assured any thermometer I use is accurate.

However, just for water changes, it doesn't matter if it's accurate or not. All that matters is the old water matches the new water temp. Even a crappy $5 thermometer from amazon will work for that.

I use cheapie Amazon digital ones and only so I know the new water temperature for testing the salinity.
Other than that, I don't really care much about the temperature of the new water when doing a water change (((assuming it's not crazy hot or cold))).
