what this tell me about my source water.

so in 24hrs I have burned thru some resin. seems like this city water has been altered or something. I never burned thru resin this fast.

i burned thru an entire mixed bed caniter in less than 9 days.. so i switched up to the pro series resins...

anion is going first. thought the cation was to be used first. whats this telling me about my source water... its not well water. that's alot of resin if i have to refill every 2 weeks or less.. think I messed up by switching over since resin retention or longer life was my 85% of goal by upgrading

How much is the TDS after the membrane (before the DI filters)?

DANG! My water starts out at around 550 tds and I ran threw about 1000 gallons before I needed to change out.

Guessing that’s the last stage…? My first thought would be chlorine, chloride or the likes is getting past the carbon block. For city water a good idea to run two carbon blocks.

tds post di (aka after duel membranes) is 87. tds after resin. 0.

I just changed out all three sediment filters at the same time I added these resin which were.

a 5 micron rosave , 1 micron carbon and a .5 pentex micron carbon.

my duel membranes are less than a year old and bought off Amazon not brs and installed on 3-22-22.

87 post di is too high. Given the membrane should have over 90% rejection rate, membrane shot.

Double or even triple carbon blocks. The chlorine/chloramines are what’s killing the DI. I run into this same problem living here in Los Angeles. I’m also using spectrapure maxcap DI which lasts a year and the silica buster which lasts almost two years.

-Maybe your membrane is shot from chlorine/chloramines (this will blow through carbon blocks that aren’t made specifically for chloramines- I have to change my first carbon block every 2 months), this will cause the high TDS and then burn through the DI converting the chlorine to ammmonia

-maybe your membrane isn’t seated properly,

-maybe your flow restrictor is for a different gpd membrane,

-maybe your flush valve is open if you have one?
