I am setting up a new 120g high end reef. I want to end up with an SPS dominant tank but am thinking I should start with some LPS corals and only the easiest SPS until my tank gets some stability over the first six months to a year. The tank will run an Apex with most of the associated gizmos. Kessil 360s lights. Nyos skimmer. Algae reactor. Clarisea input. 2 part dosing.

So my question is: what corals to start with that I won't regret in the long run? Or. conversely, what not to get? I am thinking no softies and no euphyllia (due to stinging). But perhaps Duncans for movement and also favias and favites.

Thanks for any advice you can offer

Acan corals are relatively easy and don't sting aggressively and come in a variety of colors; you would be unlikely to regret getting a few of these to start off with!
