This Duncan has two polyps, and, as you can see, one is doing great and is sprouting three little branches, and the other looks like death, with what appears to be half a side of necrotic tissue. Can this dead issue infect the polyp on the other side? Should I:

A) do nothing and see what happens?
B) cut off the weak polyp? or
C) take a different approach?

I personally would leave it and watch it.....but Duncan's are easy to frag if you want to cut that side off to protect the healthy one.
