This guy has decided to take over my entire reef. He is one single stalk and fused over 2 didferent rocks. Has anyone had success cutting one in half?

I've never cut a leather apart yet. From reading other post, you will most likely want to run some carbon after the cut to remove any toxins it releases in the water.

I have one just like that and will need to cut it up at some point in the future. Based on what I have read you can just take scissors and trim it and it should be alright. I would like to hear others input on this too.

I use a new craft / utility blade and cut off sections.
As above run fresh carbon.
This is a 4 or 5 inch section I removed from my cabbage coral about a month ago.

When I have fragged leathers I do my best to get it into a separate container outside of the DT, that being said not sure if you can do that...

I would make one big cut inside the tank.. then work on that chunk outside the tank making frags. Make sure to run carbon in the system post cut because leathers do a funny thing where they get hurt and decide to nuke the whole town. (Karen's)

Regardless, gorgeous piece. Send me a heavy chunk LOL! Grow out is always taking more contestants.

Thinking I am just going to leave this guy alone and use it as justification to the wife for an upgrade.....

Leather is easy to cut and heals well.

You can also sell it to someone that has plenty of room like . . . . . M E !!!
