Hi Everyone ,
Not sure if this is the spot to post this but here it goes.
I ordered a jeweled moray on line but what I received was a yellow edged moray Or what I believe it to be.
The seller will not call me back nor answer my emails.
So I'm stuck with a very bland moray thats going to reach 92" when full grown.
I guess I was wondering if anyone has had this happen and what have they done to get the order corrected.

Where did you order from? Maybe someone will have some experience... A pic of the eel might also help confirm/deny your fear...

I ordered from Aquarium Creations out of Fort Lauderdale.

I would say that looks a tad different then what you ordered

I did some research on them 1 time and found quite a few unhappy reviews from people who got something other than what they ordered. Now this is the Internet so just about everyone has complaints and people are more willing to post bad than good. I never did order from them so no personal experience, others may have had good experiences.

Sorry you are going through this but if you used paypal or credit card or whoever put in claim. That usually generates a response fairly quickly.

If you have tried to call and email then you did your part. ^^

Thanks Chris ,I will give them a few more days to respond before calling my bank. Honesty this is the second issues I have had where either the seller couldn't produce the Eel( Jap Dragon) but tied my money up for a week and now this . I'm not sure which one is worse.

I am not sure how feasible this is for you depending on where you live but looking for a good lfs might solve your problems. They need our support and they're more than happy to help. Maybe your local reef club will have more info.

Just a thought...

Sorry to hear about your issue.

This place looks like about 7 minutes from where I work ... if you need me to I can go over there and kick some butt!! LOL ;)
Ha! Thank you Helen. I'm hoping it doesn't get to that point. Have you ever dealt with this company? I under stand mistakes, but this is pretty big.

No, I have never been to the store, I did however send 2 emails over 2 days and called 3 times in a single day about 2 weeks ago as I was looking for LRF food and was told by LRF they were a vendor and should have it but they never pick up the phone or returned the emails. So, at that point I felt it wasn't worth my time driving over since I didn't want that kind of business getting my money

Sad to say but very few places in FL I would trust for mail order. A couple attempted to screw me over in the past. For whatever reason we just seem to have a high incidence of online scammers, bad customer service and probably the worst in the country with aquaconn and all the names it has reappeared under. Other than what I may buy locally pretty much everything I buy online is from out of state.

Actually I just looked that up and http://www.aquariumcreationsonline.net is aquaconn. I'll just tell you now same experience I had and the only way you are going to get any resolution is through your CC company. They did not even bother to respond to CC company and eventually I got back something like $450 for trash rock they sent.

Open a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and keep calling them. Otherwise if you can't house it in the meantime, I'm sure there's a local club or such around where you live that might have someone that would take it off your hands. If I ever have a bad experience with a fish I just take the loss and give them away for free to fellow club members. Usually somebody takes it for free no problems.. :)

As above contact the credit company or bank first. Then Just file a complaint with the state attorneys office. They will look in to it pretty quick and resolve the issue. BBB is not what it used to be.

The problem with businesses like aquaconn is they rely on people just eating it and doing nothing about it. Eventually when they have enough issues going on they just change the domain name of the website. They have probably had at least 4 different names since I figured them out. Trust me I tried for weeks to get resolution and when I finally got someone on the phone they promised me a new shipment that never happened. Then I started the CC dispute process. They never even responded to the bank and eventually bank gave me a full refund. I have run online businesses before and if you start getting charge backs the CC processor will drop you. So they change business names and get a new CC processor and continue ripping people off. They have been robbing people for well over 10 years and how the state attorney has never jailed these people is beyond me. When you order they do ship out stuff but its usually a bait and switch and then good luck making it right. They also for a while tried operating off the name qualitymarine (the real one is probably the largest us fish distributor).

They are not BBB member and could care less complaints. I think all of their various incarnations all have an F rating. Google Aquaconn complaints and you will get the picture.

Wow thank you all for the support, I don't expect much back from this company after reading the above:)
Anyone want a yellow edge Moray???

Just a heads up... If you plan on getting your money back you need to hang onto it at least until the resolution process is done. The bank will ask if you have the item and are willing to return it because if they did respond to the complaint they could want the item back for a refund which is a legal right. I ended up using the "premium bali alor" rock I bought as base rock when I didn't have to return it.

Before you order from online vendors it is always good to check reviews and call them first. There are a number of great online sellers and sometimes they are busy and takes a day are two to call back or answer emails. I prefer when possible to use LFS but my closest since I moved is 2.5 hours away. One or two screw-ups and any business loses customers if they don't resolve it. Keep track of your phone calls and copies of your emails for the credit card company. Have good pictures also because if they do not resolve it you will be looking for a home for the eel you did get and you will get your money back. Since they shipped the wrong item if they want it back they have to pay for packing and return shipping.
