I recently switched from using a 30g as my sump to a dedicated true reg/sump thereby freeing up my 30g which has its own skimmer and very nice LEDs. There are soooo many things I could do but I can decide! My primary tank is a 60g cube mixed reef. So thought on what to do with an old/cycled empty 30g?

Do you have room to set it up inline as a frag tank?

I hadn't thought of that but I suppose I've got lighting for that... what else is required?

Or you can have it setup as a quarantine tank if you want to introduce a new fish...

I've always wanted a puffer but they'd eat my reef. Is a 30g too small?

What do they require?

Did someone say seahorses? There is some good info on them in my signature.

I think a planted tank with a pair of seahorses or a frogfish would be great in that tank.

Depends on the puffer, but I'd say yes a 30 gallon is too small. We have a porcupine puffer currently in a 75 gallon fowlr. In less than a year he's more than tripled in size. He's a monster and eats constantly, but is a precious little baby of course. :)

I figured as much. Thanks!

I'll give a look. I've been into reefing a long time but have zero experience or knowledge of them.
