What to do with a baby mushroom?

I've had my pink rim watermelon (disco?) mushroom(new to saltwater) for a little over a month now, it's not very big itself, was about 3/4in until it dropped this baby it seems to shrunk back down to 1/2 in. Anyways, this is the 3rd baby it dropped already. Unfortunately the 2 other ones everytime I just let lay there on the sand ended up getting blown around and I'm pretty sure they all ended up dead because I haven't seen them for a couple weeks now. What should I do to assure that this baby lives? Should I put in on a plug, glue it to some rock? Or just let it sit next to the momma in the sand? Yes, I know they reproduce alot, but them being my first coral it excites me to see them drop babies and I would like to keep as many alive as possible even though I know they may be plain old mushrooms. Thanks!

Place it in a low flow area with rubble rock and let it latch on to it. You cant glue them to frag plugs

Ok, the mom currently is in a low flow area, I'm assuming she likes it because all the babies? Should I place the baby in a cup with rubble? Also what's the best way to pick them up/best thing to use. Just curious, why can't they be place in a plug? Thanks.

They’re too slimy to be glue to the plugs. A shot glass works good on keeping them.

Hi, LilFish , James is right, way too slimy to glue. I Tupperware container with rubble or better yet is a blueberry/Strawberry container with all the slits in it. This will hold the shroom in the container ,Not blown out by current or such but still allow flow thru it. Put it in a shady spot. & check up on it some weeks later. There are utube video's on fragging shrooms.
I still have my mushrooms, all babies from one of the first corals I bought too !

I don't know how to feed mushrooms. What do I feed them and where? That super small hole in the middle?

Yes, the hole is their core. Using as simple as a turkey baster, simply squirt brine shrimp or reef roids into the core. They will fold up and eat and re-open looking super plump

Wow didn't know that. When mine closes up after lights out and feeding the tank sometimes, is this most likely what he's doing?

I have placed some baby shrooms in a simple small plastic basket with rubble and a large rock to hold the basket down. Check out the pics in of my build, link is in my signature.
