Hi, I recently bought a small red discosoma. While placing it, he dropped a very tiny red piece of himself. Its between a small crack in the stones. Is this a "baby"? Can I leave it there and will it grow? The size is like a 1mm red glowing sand grain.

Just curious

As long as it isn't getting blown around, I would just leave it. If it is a shroom it should grow pretty quick, and will move around on it's own.

Do you know if they like to sit in holes and then spread out, or do they like growing over bumps and tiny mountains?

Both? I started with one blue shroom, it moved off the top of the frag plug and into the space between the plug and rock and has since moved back on top of the plug, I now have 3 more baby shrooms on or around the plug.

They reproduce via pedal laceration. . . worth a google.

They are a plague in my tank...bud off and land anywhere and attach..like in zoa colonies, next to lps, wherever.
